About the Book

Book Overview

When a ranger told Karen's tour group of the 1733 slave rebellion on St. John led by an African King named Bolombo, the story grabbed hold of her. Then she and her hiking partner Jen became lost on the island, abandoned by the ranger. Like those rebellious slaves, the two hikers were running for their lives.

The sound of the drums from three hundred years ago, sending a message meant only for African ears, reached Karen and Jen. They were joined by the Djambi spirits and, for a moment, their souls became one with the island.
